flottra vs AdsPower: an alternative built for X accounts
AdsPower is a mature antidetect browser for any website, on Windows, macOS and Linux, from $9 a month for 10 profiles. It gives each profile a fingerprint and proxy, and what happens on X is up to you or an RPA flow. flottra does only X, only on Windows, with follows, text posts, profile edits and pacing built in.
This page is for people who use AdsPower, or are weighing it up, mainly to run X (Twitter) accounts. AdsPower is a general antidetect browser; flottra is a narrower tool that only does X. They overlap on one thing, keeping accounts apart, and differ on almost everything else.
Competitor facts below come from AdsPower’s own site, checked 24 September 2026. flottra facts describe the product as it ships in its open beta.

What AdsPower is and what it does well
AdsPower is a multi-platform antidetect browser. Each profile gets its own cookies, its own proxy and its own set of device values, so dozens or thousands of accounts on any website look like separate machines. According to its homepage, it ships two kernels, SunBrowser (Chrome based) and FlowerBrowser (Firefox based), and desktop apps for Windows, macOS and Linux.
- Current kernels. Its release notes list v8.7.23, dated 23 September 2026, rolling out Chrome 153 on Windows, Mac and Linux.
- No-code automation. An RPA builder with a template marketplace, and a creator program for people who publish templates. The latest release notes also describe an AI agent that can generate an RPA workflow from steps you perform.
- Developer access. A local API whose open-browser call returns debug interfaces for Selenium and Puppeteer, and an MCP guide in the site footer.
- Teams and scale. Paid plans include a super-administrator and let you add members, sync profiles across computers, and grow to 1,000 profiles on listed plans.
- Mobile. Cloud phones through its partner DuoPlus, plus Android and iOS apps.
On X specifically, AdsPower is infrastructure. Its RPA page names Facebook, YouTube and Discord as template platforms, not X. An AdsPower blog post from July 2024 mentions a "Post Tweets, Like, Comment" template; we could not confirm it is still in the marketplace. There is also a guide to warming X accounts with its Cookie Bot. Anything beyond that, you build.
How flottra differs
flottra starts from the X work instead of the browser. You add accounts in a web panel, and a Windows app on your own computer opens a real, visible browser for each account and does the task there. No browser runs on flottra’s servers, and it never runs headless.
- One profile, one proxy, one fingerprint per account. Each account has a persistent profile stored on your disk, a required proxy (no proxy, no browser), and a fixed fingerprint in flottra’s own Chromium-based engine. Timezone, language and location follow the proxy’s exit IP.
- Follows built in. Paste up to 500 usernames per account, or let auto follow find candidates through X people search from the account’s persona terms. Default pacing: at most one follow per 5 minutes, 6 an hour and 80 a day per account, between 09:00 and 22:00 in the account’s own timezone.
- Text posts. One-off posts you write in the panel, or a posting routine that writes with your own AI key (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Mistral, xAI, DeepSeek or Groq) or with your own Claude Code through the MCP server. flottra does not sell AI credits.
- Profile edits. Display name, bio, website, avatar, header, username and password, one account at a time or in bulk.
- A warming gate. Counted from the day an account is added: 3 actions a day and no follows for days 0 to 2, 6 a day with follows from day 3, 12 a day with replies from day 7, open from day 14. Routine posting waits until day 14. Details on account warming.
- Likes and replies, narrowly. Only through Pods (Pro and Team: 3 to 6 of your own accounts pointed at one target with a random stagger) or tasks an agent schedules over MCP. You supply the reply text.
The trade is plain. With AdsPower you get a stronger, broader browser and write the X workflow yourself. With flottra the X workflow and its limits are already there, and the browser side is much thinner. The full list is on the features page.
Where AdsPower is the better choice
- You work on more than X. Ads, e-commerce, other social networks: AdsPower handles any site. flottra only does X.
- You use a Mac or Linux. AdsPower runs on Windows, macOS and Linux. flottra’s app is Windows only.
- A team shares the profiles. AdsPower has a super-administrator, paid member seats and profile sync. flottra has no team seats or invites.
- You need many profiles cheaply. $9 a month for 10 profiles, $4.50 billed annually, and plans up to 1,000 profiles. flottra’s Starter is $39 for 10 accounts.
- You want to build your own automation. RPA, a template marketplace and a local API for Selenium and Puppeteer give you flexibility flottra does not offer.
- Mature fingerprint tooling. Two kernel families, frequent kernel updates, and SOCKS5 and SSH proxies. flottra’s engine is Chromium only and accepts HTTP proxies.

What flottra does not do
- No macOS, Linux or mobile app, and no cloud browser: if your computer is off, tasks wait.
- No other platforms, no RPA builder, no team seats, no 2FA on the panel.
- No unfollow, no DMs, no retweets, quotes, threads, polls, or image and video posts.
- No automatic like or reply routine, and no AI-written replies.
- No captcha solving: email or phone checks at login stop and wait for you.
- No proxies for sale and no datacenter proxies; SOCKS is not supported in practice. See proxies for X accounts.
- No post analytics.
X rules and risk
X’s automation rules (marked "Updated April 2026") say not to "Use non-API-based forms of automation, such as scripting the X website. The use of these techniques may result in the permanent suspension of your account." They add: "You may not like posts or hide replies in an automated manner" and "You may not follow or unfollow X accounts in a bulk, aggressive, or indiscriminate manner."
Using AdsPower by hand is just using a browser. The moment an RPA flow or a script follows, likes or posts on x.com, it is scripting the X website. flottra drives x.com in a real browser too, so it falls under the same sentence. flottra is not compliant with these rules and does not claim to be. What it changes is how the risk is carried: the warming gate, the hourly caps and a separate profile, proxy and fingerprint per account, on your own computer. None of that removes the risk.
If you only need posts
A scheduler built on the official X API is the lower-risk route for posting. See the Typefully comparison and why X accounts get suspended.
Pricing compared
AdsPower prices come from its pricing page, checked 24 September 2026, in monthly mode. Quarterly billing is 15% off and annual billing 50% off.
| AdsPower plan | Profiles | Monthly | Billed annually |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | 2 | $0 | - |
| Professional | 10 | $9/mo | $4.50/mo ($54/yr) |
| Professional | 20 / 50 / 100 | $12 / $21 / $36 per mo | Not checked |
| Business | 200 | $61/mo | $30.50/mo ($366/yr) |
| Business | 500 / 1,000 | $126 / $197 per mo | Not checked |
| Enterprise | 5,000+ | Price upon request | - |
flottra plans: Free $0 for 2 accounts with no card, Starter $39 a month for 10 accounts, Pro $99 for 40, Team $299 for 150, and $4 a month per extra account. Every plan allows unlimited computers; Pods are on Pro and Team only. flottra is in open beta: card payments are not open yet, and paid plans are set up directly by email. Prices exclude VAT. Details on the pricing page.
Per profile, AdsPower is far cheaper. The comparison only makes sense if you count the X automation you would otherwise build and maintain yourself.
Which one to choose
- Choose AdsPower if you run accounts on several platforms, work on a Mac or Linux, share profiles with a team, need hundreds of profiles at a low price, or want to build your own flows with RPA or an API.
- Choose flottra if your work is X accounts on Windows and you want follows, text posts, profile edits and a warming gate ready to use, scheduled from a panel, without maintaining RPA flows.
- Use both if you keep AdsPower for other platforms and move only the X accounts to flottra. Just never run the same X account in both at once.

Moving X accounts from AdsPower to flottra
- Log in with auth_token. The recommended way is the account’s auth_token cookie from a browser where it is already logged in. Username, password and a 2FA secret also work; the app generates the TOTP code.
- Import in bulk. One line per account:
username:password[:email[:emailpassword[:2fasecret]]][:auth_token]. - Assign a proxy to each account. Reusing the proxy the account had in AdsPower keeps its IP history consistent. It must be an HTTP residential, mobile or ISP proxy.
- Expect a new device. The flottra profile has its own fingerprint, so to X it looks like a login from a new computer.
- Expect the warming gate. It counts from the day an account is added to flottra, not from its age on X, so even old accounts start at 3 actions a day.
Two accounts are free with no card: join the beta.

Questions
- Which antidetect browser is best?
- It depends on what you run. Check which platforms you work on, whether a team shares the profiles, which operating systems you use, how many profiles you need and whether you want no-code automation or an API. AdsPower, Multilogin, GoLogin and Dolphin Anty all cover many platforms on Windows, macOS and Linux. flottra is not a general antidetect browser: it only runs X accounts, only on Windows.
- Which browser is best for avoiding fingerprinting?
- No browser makes you invisible. What helps is consistency: each profile keeps the same device values every time it opens, those values agree with the proxy’s location, and the browser version is current. Antidetect browsers are built to manage that per profile. Ordinary Chrome profiles on one computer all share that computer’s hardware fingerprint, which is the gap these tools fill.
- Is AdsPower free?
- There is a Free plan with 2 profiles that AdsPower calls “free forever”, with no team members. Paid plans start at $9 a month for 10 profiles on Professional, with 15% off quarterly and 50% off annual billing, and the pricing FAQ mentions a 7-day free trial. Prices were read from AdsPower’s own pricing page on 24 September 2026.
- Does AdsPower automate X (Twitter)?
- Not as a built-in product feature. AdsPower gives you isolated profiles plus a no-code RPA builder, a template marketplace and a local API, so X actions are something you build or pick up as a template. A 2024 AdsPower blog post described a template for posting tweets, liking and commenting; whether it is still in the marketplace today could not be confirmed.
- Can I use AdsPower and flottra together?
- Yes, for different jobs. You can keep AdsPower for your other platforms and give only your X accounts to flottra. flottra does not open AdsPower profiles: each X account gets its own flottra profile, proxy and fingerprint. Do not run the same X account in both at once, because to X that looks like one account on two devices.
- Does flottra work on Mac?
- No. The flottra desktop app runs only on Windows, and there is no macOS, Linux or mobile app. The browsers run on your own computer, not in a cloud, so a Mac-only setup cannot run flottra today. If you need macOS or Linux, AdsPower and the other antidetect browsers support both.
- Is flottra an antidetect browser?
- Partly. It has its own Chromium-based engine that gives every account a fixed fingerprint and its own proxy, and a profiles screen for manual browsing. But it is built around X tasks, not general profile management: no team seats, no RPA builder, no other platforms and no macOS. For those needs, a dedicated antidetect browser is the better fit.
