flottra vs Multilogin: an alternative built for X accounts

This page is for people who use Multilogin for X accounts, or are pricing it for that job, and want to know whether a tool built only for X would serve them better. Multilogin is an established antidetect browser that covers far more than X. flottra covers only X, and does the X work itself.

What Multilogin is and what it does well

Multilogin keeps browser profiles apart so that many accounts do not look like one device. Each profile gets its own cookies, proxy and fingerprint, on one of two engines: Mimic, based on Chromium, and Stealthfox, based on Firefox. The system requirements list Windows 10 or later (64-bit), macOS 14 Sonoma or later including Apple silicon, and Ubuntu 22 or later.

In 2026 it grew past the browser. Its pricing page now leads with "Cloud Phones & Browser Profiles in One Platform": Android on real smartphone hardware, not an emulator, billed per mobile minute. It also sells residential, ISP and mobile proxies, and every plan comes with some bonus proxy traffic.

The parts that make it strong for a team running many profiles:

• Automation hooks. Paid plans get API access, a CLI and hardened Selenium, Puppeteer and Playwright support. The homepage also mentions ADB and AI agents.
• Profile tooling. Bulk create and clone, profile transfer, pre-made cookies, and a Cookie Robot for warming a profile up.
• Seats. Business plans list unlimited team seats.
• Scale. Business plans step up to 10,000 profiles, with sales contact above that.

It also has pages aimed at X, such as cloud phones for Twitter. What they offer is infrastructure: a phone or profile per account, residential IPs, and automation through APIs and the frameworks above. No built-in follow, like or post action for X, and no X scheduler, was found in the product.

How flottra differs

Multilogin gives you clean, separate browsers and leaves what happens inside them to you. flottra starts from the X work and builds the separation around it.

The setup per account

• Your own computer. A web panel holds what should happen and when; the Windows app opens a real, visible browser for each account on your computer and does the work there. It is never headless, and flottra runs no browsers on its servers.
• One profile, one proxy, one fingerprint. Each account keeps a persistent browser profile on your disk, its own proxy, and a fixed fingerprint from flottra’s own Chromium-based engine: canvas, WebGL, audio, fonts, GPU strings and screen differ between accounts and stay the same between launches. Timezone, language and location come from the proxy’s exit address. See choosing proxies for X accounts.
• Paced by default. A warming gate counts from the day an account is added: 3 actions a day for days 0 to 2 with no follows, 6 a day from day 3, 12 from day 7 with replies allowed, open from day 14. Routine posting waits the full 14 days.

The X work it does

• Follow. From a pasted list of up to 500 usernames per account, or from optional discovery through X people search. At most one follow every five minutes per account, 6 an hour by default, 80 a day, between 09:00 and 22:00 in the account’s own time. See how auto follow works.
• Post. Text posts up to 280 characters, one-off from the panel, or on a routine written with your own AI key or by your own agent over MCP. flottra sells no AI credits.
• Like and reply. Through Pods on Pro and Team (3 to 6 of your accounts on one target, mixed order and spacing), or tasks scheduled over MCP. The reply text is yours.
• Profiles and sessions. Display name, bio, website, avatar, header, username and password, one account or in bulk, plus a check for whether each account is logged in, locked or suspended.
• By hand. "Start now" opens an account’s own browser with its profile, proxy and fingerprint, and standalone browser profiles run with their own proxy and fingerprint.

Where Multilogin is the better choice

• You work on more than X. Ads, stores, crypto, other social networks. Multilogin handles any site; flottra handles only X.
• You are on a Mac or Linux. Multilogin ships for Windows, macOS and Ubuntu. flottra’s app and engine are Windows only.
• You write your own automation. Selenium, Puppeteer, Playwright, a CLI and ADB for cloud phones give a developer control over any flow on any site.
• You work as a team. Business plans list unlimited seats and Multilogin has profile transfer. flottra has no team seats or invites.
• You want proxies and phones in one place. Multilogin sells proxies and Android cloud phones on real hardware. flottra sells neither and has no cloud browser.
• You need scale per dollar. Multilogin goes to 10,000 profiles, and 10 profiles cost $11 a month. flottra’s largest plan is 150 accounts.

What flottra does not do

• No macOS, Linux or mobile app. Windows only.
• No other platforms. Every task is an X task.
• No cloud browser or cloud phone. If your computer is off, the work waits.
• No proxy sales, no datacenter proxies, and SOCKS is not supported in practice: use HTTP proxies.
• No team seats, no invites, and no 2FA on the panel login.
• No DMs, unfollows, retweets, quotes, threads, polls, or image and video posts. No automatic like or reply routine, and no AI-written replies.
• No captcha solving. An email or phone check at login stops the account until you clear it.
• No post analytics.

X rules and risk

X’s automation rules (updated April 2026) name the method flottra uses. They list "non-API-based forms of automation, such as scripting the X website" and say it "may result in the permanent suspension of your account." They add: "You may not like posts or hide replies in an automated manner" and "You may not follow or unfollow X accounts in a bulk, aggressive, or indiscriminate manner."

flottra is not compliant with those rules and does not claim to be. The same goes for any script you run inside a Multilogin profile or cloud phone: the browser or phone does not change what the script does on x.com. Multilogin on its own only opens profiles; the risk arrives with the automation you add.

The official API is no longer a route for this work either. X’s API changelog for 16 April 2026 reads "Following, Likes, and Quote-Posts via the API have been removed from all self-serve tiers."

Pricing compared

Multilogin, from its pricing page, checked 24 September 2026. Yearly billing takes 35% off.

Extra proxy traffic is sold from $2.275 per GB in bulk, and cloud phone minutes from $16.8 per 2,000.

flottra (full pricing): Free $0 for 2 accounts with no card, Starter $39 a month for 10, Pro $99 for 40, Team $299 for 150, and $4 a month per extra account. Every plan allows unlimited computers. Pods need Pro or Team; everything else is on every plan, Free included. Prices exclude VAT. flottra is in open beta: card payment is not live yet, so paid plans are set up directly through hello@flottra.com.

Per profile, Multilogin is much cheaper. The two prices buy different things: a Multilogin profile is an empty, isolated browser, while a flottra account slot includes the follow and post work.

Which one to choose

• Choose Multilogin if you manage accounts on several platforms, use a Mac or Linux, want to script your own flows, need seats for a team, or want proxies and cloud phones from the same vendor.
• Choose flottra if your accounts are on X, you run Windows, and you want follows and posts scheduled and paced per account without building or maintaining scripts.
• Both, side by side, if X is one of several platforms you run: keep the other platforms in Multilogin and give your X accounts to flottra, each with its own proxy.

Moving X accounts from Multilogin to flottra

1. Install the Windows app and pair it with an 8-character one-time code. It only connects outward; you open no ports.
2. Import accounts one per line as username:password[:email[:emailpassword[:2fasecret]]][:auth_token]. The auth_token cookie is the recommended way in; with a 2FA secret, the app generates the code.
3. Assign each account a residential, mobile or ISP proxy. Each account gets a new flottra profile and fingerprint; the import does not take a Multilogin profile.
4. Expect the warming gate. It counts from the day the account is added to flottra, not from the account’s age on X, so a years-old account still starts at 3 actions a day.
