flottra vs Circleboom: an official API cleanup tool or one browser per account

This page is for people who use Circleboom, or are looking at it, and wonder whether a different kind of tool fits what they do on X. The short version: Circleboom and flottra solve different problems, and the honest comparison starts with how each one touches your account.

Circleboom works through the official X API from its own servers. flottra opens a real browser for each account on your own computer and does the work on x.com. That single difference explains most of the table below, including what each tool can and cannot do.

What Circleboom is and what it does well

Circleboom is two products. Circleboom Twitter is an account management tool: follower and following management, follow and unfollow, block and unblock, fake, bot and inactive account detection, "Who Unfollowed / Followed Me", "Not Following Back", account search by bio and tweets, keyword auto-follow, an AI writer, queue scheduling with auto RT, post analytics, list and bookmark managers, CSV export and deletion of tweets, likes, DMs and bookmarks. That list is from its own pricing page, and its home page adds that you can follow, unfollow, remove, block or add accounts to lists in bulk.

Circleboom Publish is a separate scheduler for several networks, X included: queues, recurring posts, a thread maker, poll scheduling, RSS feeds that update every 5 minutes, an AI generator and a Canva design tool.

The route is the part that matters most. Circleboom calls itself "An Official Enterprise Developer", and its auto-follow article (dated 3 June 2026) says it "is registered through the X Enterprise developer program, which means every read and every follow runs through sanctioned channels." The same article gives its pace: "Circleboom follows 50 accounts every 15 minutes, up to 400 per day." We could not confirm the Enterprise listing independently, so treat that as Circleboom’s own statement.

The access level is not a detail. X’s API changelog says that on 16 April 2026 "Following, Likes, and Quote-Posts via the API have been removed from all self-serve tiers." A follow tool on the API now needs access above those tiers, which is what Circleboom says it has.

How flottra differs

flottra is built for a different job: running many separate X accounts, each kept apart from the others. It is a web panel that holds what should happen and when, plus a Windows app on your own computer that does the work.

• One real browser per account. The app opens a real, visible browser for each account, never headless, using flottra’s own Chromium-based engine. Each account has a persistent profile with its cookies in its own folder on your disk.
• One proxy and one fingerprint per account. Proxies are required: an account without one does not open. Each account gets its own fixed fingerprint, and its time zone, language and location follow the proxy’s exit IP. More in our proxies for X accounts and antidetect browsers guides.
• Paced following. Auto follow works from a target list you paste (up to 500 usernames at a time) or from automatic discovery through X people search. The pace is at most one follow per account every 5 minutes, 6 an hour by default and 80 a day on the growth default, inside 09:00 to 22:00 in the account’s own time. How those numbers sit against X’s published limits is covered in X follow bots and follow limits.
• A warming gate. New accounts are held back by account warming: 3 actions a day with no follows for days 0 to 2, 6 a day for days 3 to 6, 12 a day for days 7 to 13, then open. It is a gate, not a browsing routine.
• Text posting. One-off posts you write in the panel, or a posting routine whose text is written with your own AI key or by your own Claude Code through the MCP server. flottra does not sell AI credits.
• Profile work and manual access. Display name, bio, website, avatar, header, username and password changes, one by one or in bulk; session checks; and "Start now" to open an account’s own browser by hand.
• More computers, more parallel work. Every plan allows unlimited paired computers, and each runs one task at a time.

Where Circleboom is the better choice

• You want the official API route. Circleboom works through the X API and says it has Enterprise access. flottra scripts the website, which X’s rules name directly.
• You need to unfollow or clean up. Non-followers, fake and inactive accounts, removing bot followers, bulk unfollow: Circleboom does all of this and flottra does none of it.
• You want analytics. Circleboom has post analytics, follower tracking and account comparison. flottra has no post analytics.
• You want to delete history. Circleboom can delete tweets, likes, DMs and bookmarks.
• You do not want to keep a computer on. Circleboom runs on its servers. flottra runs on your PC, and when it is off, the work waits.
• You are on a Mac or a phone. Circleboom works in any browser and has an iOS app. flottra’s app is Windows only.
• You publish more than text. Circleboom Publish covers threads, polls, RSS and other networks. flottra posts text on X only.

What flottra does not do

• No unfollow of any kind: no non-follower cleanup, no bulk unfollow.
• No post analytics such as impressions or engagement.
• No DMs, reposts, quotes, threads, polls, or image and video posts.
• No automatic like or reply routine, and no AI-written replies.
• No Mac, Linux or mobile app, and no cloud browser.
• No proxies for sale and no datacenter proxies; you bring residential, mobile or ISP.
• No captcha solving: an email or phone check at login stops and waits for you.

X rules and risk

X’s automation rules (updated April 2026) contain two sentences that matter for this comparison. The first is about the route: "Use non-API-based forms of automation, such as scripting the X website. The use of these techniques may result in the permanent suspension of your account." flottra is in that category. Circleboom, on the API, is not.

The second is about behaviour, whatever the route: "You may not follow or unfollow X accounts in a bulk, aggressive, or indiscriminate manner." That applies to how you use Circleboom’s bulk tools and to how you use flottra’s follow routine alike. The rules also say "You may not like posts or hide replies in an automated manner."

Which one to choose

• Choose Circleboom if you run one or a few accounts, want the official API route, need unfollow, cleanup, analytics or deletion, work from a Mac or phone, or do not want a computer running.
• Choose flottra if you run many separate X accounts and want each one in its own browser, proxy and fingerprint on your own Windows PC, with paced following, text posting and profile work, and you accept the risk that comes with scripting the website.
• Using both is possible: Circleboom for cleanup and analytics, flottra for per-account following and posting. Both act on the same account, so their follows add up; keep the total in mind.

Moving from Circleboom to flottra

1. Import your accounts in bulk, one per line, as username:password[:email[:emailpassword[:2fasecret]]][:auth_token]. Adding the auth_token cookie is the recommended login; with a password, the app generates the 2FA code for you.
2. Assign one proxy to each account. Without one, the account’s browser does not open.
3. Pair your computer with the 8-character code from the panel. The app only makes outgoing connections, so there is no port to open.
4. Expect the warming gate. It counts from the day an account is added to flottra, not from the day it was created on X, so an account you have used for years still starts at 3 actions a day with no follows, and routine posting waits 14 days.
5. Keep another tool for unfollowing, since flottra does not do it.
